The GPSCY is a community center available to all Yale graduate and professional students and their guests. The Graduate-Professional Student Senate (GPSS) oversees the building which includes Gryphon's Pub in the basement level, a ballroom on the first level, and numerous office spaces and a large meeting space on the second level.
Graduate departments, professional schools, student groups, as well as individiual students, may use the GPSCY as a venue for activities including plays, poetry readings, musical performances, lectures, receptions and parties. Rental fees are usally required, however student groups may request a waiver from the GPSS.
